I now am officially and gainfully employed by Parks Canada, and discovering the joys of being a government employee. *sighs* It's just joyful, lemme tell you. *sighs*
I work at Bruce Peninsula National Park, at the Cyprus Lake campground, and I work in the campground office. I spend most of my days in the office, selling permits to people who want to camp, hike, swim, canoe, fish, kayak, or just be in the park. I am tired of working for the Canadian government, I have never seen more people do nothing all day then here. *shakes head* Ah well, it's a beautiful park, full of natural-ness and trees and stuff.
I also live at the park, in the staff residence, with three other people, all male. It's very different, I've never lived with boys before, it's incredibly hard to get them to do anything. *laughs* There are two guys my age, and a middle-aged man that works as a compliance officer in the park (he's the guy that tells you you're being too loud after eleven), and we have fun.
I take lot's of hikes, take tons of pictures and yesterday I accomplished one of my goals for the summer, which was to hike into Tobermory along the Bruce Trail. I did it. It took six hours, and I am definitely feeling it today, but I made it.
I see Jan when he gets up here, which is not very often, but he did come up last week, to take us back to Waterloo so we could go apartment hunting!!! Which, par for the course, did not go so well, and we ended up using that time to enjoy the king-sized bed at the hotel, which was rather nice if I do say so myself. Hopefully he will have more luck with the apartment hunting thing this week, while he's in Cambridge, waiting for his truck to get fixed.

I've decided that I am going to actively start writing again, poems/fiction that is. I think I really need to do that, I've really missed being able to sit down and churn out words for hours. I can't seem to do that right now, I get blocked after about twenty minutes, and that's really not long enough. I need to write, and I'm having so much trouble doing it right now. I also am going to start posting photos that I have taken on DeviantArt, I stopped doing it because I really wasn't much good at taking pictures, but I think I have really improved since then with using my camera to take the shot, and making them work. I've taken some really nice pictures here at Cyprus and I took some really nice ones in Quebec as well, that I will post as soon as I get the time to clean them up and make them all gorgeous.
As a continuation of that thought, does anyone know of some good tutorials for Paintshop Pro 9? I could really use some, on anything really, just to help me learn some tricks, techniques and other good stuff.
Off to bed with me, since I'm home from work and rather tired. Two days off, and then back to the park again. *sighs* Ah well.
